International Western Union transfers
Since February 24, 2022, the NBU has prohibited international money transfers from Ukraine.
However, Nova Post still allows you to receive a money transfer from abroad in Ukraine.

How to send money from abroad
- 1Find a Western Union branch.
- 2Present your passport to the cashier and provide your personal details:
- Last name
- First name
- Address
- Phone number.
- 3Provide the recipient's details:
- Your first and last name
- Country of receiving the transfer
- Transfer amount
- 4Pay the service fee at the Western Union commission.
- 5Get a receipt with the transfer number (MTCN). This number must be shared with the recipient.
How to get a money transfer in Ukraine

- 2Tell the cashier:
- Western Union transfer number. The number must be provided by the sender of the transfer
- Full name of the sender
- Country from which the transfer was sent
- 3Provide documents proving your identity.
- 4Receive the transfer after verifying the data.
Documents that may be provided to prove your identity
For Ukrainian residents:
- Passport of a citizen of Ukraine
- Passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad: without a stamp of permanent residence abroad
- Temporary certificate of a citizen of Ukraine
- Permanent residence permit in Ukraine
- Refugee certificate issued in Ukraine
- Supplementary protection certificate
For a non-resident of Ukraine:
- Temporary residence permit: either on paper or an ID card
- Passport of a citizen of a foreign state
- Certificate of a person granted temporary protection in Ukraine
- Diplomatic passport of a foreign citizen
The funds are returned to the sender if the recipient does not appear to receive the transfer within 90+ calendar days. To receive a refund, the sender must submit a request to the Western Union office.
Service restrictions and conditions
- Transfers are only paid out in UAH.
- The transfer amount without opening an account should not exceed 399 999 ₴.
- The exchange rate of the transfer is set by Western Union, an international payment system. The sender will receive information about the exchange rate, payment amount, and restrictions in the country to which the money is sent at the time of the transfer.
- You cannot receive a transfer from Belarus and Russia at Nova Post branches. To get a refund, the sender must revoke the transfer.
